FAQ

Straight answers, before you call.

What does it cost to hire you?

Nothing upfront. We work on a contingency fee, which means our fee comes out of the recovery. If there is no recovery, you owe no attorney fee.

How long do I have to file in Georgia?

Most personal injury claims carry a two-year limitations period, but there are important exceptions that can shorten or extend it. Claims against a government entity often require written notice far sooner.

Should I talk to the other driver's insurance company?

Not before getting advice. You are generally not required to give the other side a recorded statement, and those statements are routinely used to reduce or deny claims.

What is my case worth?

It depends on the severity of the injury, the treatment required, lost income, available insurance coverage, and fault. Be skeptical of anyone who quotes a figure before reviewing your medical records.

What if I was partly at fault?

Georgia follows modified comparative negligence. Your recovery is reduced by your percentage of fault, and barred entirely if you are 50 percent or more responsible. Partial fault does not automatically end a claim.

How long will my case take?

Straightforward claims may resolve in months. Cases involving serious injuries, disputed liability, or multiple defendants commonly take a year or more, particularly if suit is filed.

Will my case go to trial?

Most settle. We prepare every case as though it will be tried, because a file that is ready for trial settles on better terms.

What if the driver had no insurance?

Your own uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage may apply, and it is often the primary source of recovery. Many people do not realize they carry it.
